Attractive and unusual image. The composition works very well for me.
I like how the dark side almost fades into the black, very arty.
The appeal of the image is in the lighting, light to dark, however I feel that the underside of the bud is too white and bright - over exposed.
A little less exposure or less light intensity. Did you lighten shadows/darken highlights in processing,?

no i had not done any thing to this flower at all, i thought it looked ok as it was!, but thank you very much for your remarks i will take them on board.
