141 (202)After a very hectic week, it was a blessing to escape to The Coppice, for a few hours this morning.
Glad I did to![]()
The Coal tits are now calling in, on a regular basis.![]()
A pair of Goldfinches finally took the plunge this morning & landed briefly on the Niger feeder.
They hovered around for ages, giving the place the once-over, before they did.
A Treecreeper also came into the area and I managed one half decent shot, before he/she went scampering out of sight.
I also had a Willow tit and a Marsh tit on one of the perches, within seconds of each other. When comparing the two images, I believe I can see the subtle difference between the two.
To me the main point of I.D is the clean black bib/badge of the Marsh tit against the more scruffy/patchy one of the Willow tit.
A Stoat, who looked as if he/she was on a mission, passed within a foot of where I was set up with the camera. Only spotted it by chance, as I looked around at something else.
I must admit ,there are all sorts of strange noises emitting from the woods and I haven't a clue (yet) as to what is making them.
