This is (adapted from) a sculpure by Peter Randall-Page called 'The Seed'. It is the centrepiece of a new building at the Eden Centre called 'The Core'.
It started life as a 300 million year old, 167 tonne granite boulder extracted from a mine in Cornwall. It now weighs 70 tonnes and is one of the largest sculptures in the world.
V1 manipulated!
V2 the surface, textured like a sunflower
V3 the surface again
V4 The whole thing!
V1 I didn't want the surface straight, as it is curved, I also thought that V2, 3 and 4 might not be very appealing, which is why I experimented with something more eyecatching for V1!
Over to you!
Tony
