Everyone was going home after a nice fireworks display off the Comox Marina here on Vancouver Island. Then slowly this golden orb began rising out of the black horizon. Colour was probably due to distant forest fires.

I'm surprised at the amount of detail you have managed to pull out of this, just look at those craters makes you think you just HAVE to see some man made object in one of them.

Terry.

Thanks W - Red. Terry, I think it was due to being at the horizon. The lower the larger they say. So lucky, I couldn't believe it. TG

"The moon is a Balloon" a classic book, and a somewhat classic image of this wonderfully illuminated and captured Moon.

Love the colour and clarity Tony, not far from where I live in Wales is the family home of the Gwillims, might not ring any bells with you! but one of the Daughters was Elizabeth Posthuma Gwillim, she was the Wife of General John Graves Simcoe who Founded the City of Toronto in 1793, sorry nothing to do with your excellent photograph but we do have some Canadian history here.

Regards

Trev.

Simcoe is a well known name in Ontario. Years ago I lived in Ottawa and then Hamilton Ontario. Now you have added the General John Graves part and the Gwillim connection to Wales. Our history is now rounded out. TG

A very good detailed moon shot, plenty of crater's to be seen, I think if you try for a full moon you will do even better next time and knock their sox off, regards Leon, good luck.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
