I thought it was odd seeing a racoon looking for crabs and seafoods along our ocean side beach at Goose Spit. Comox. during daylight hours.
The logic became clear as he had glaucoma so with night vision impaired he adjusted to day hunting. Hunting must be good as he was as plump as any racoon.
He saw me following for a few photos and eventually shuffled to safety between many driftwood logs. He learned that humans visiting the beach are no real danger, thus his lazy escape.
