Green Woodpecker in the snow.
Thank you all for your votes, comments and clicks on the previous Crow upload...as always greatly appreciated.
I have just spent two days sat in a hide hoping for foxes, alas they never showed. However just when things were looking bleak and my fingers and toes were about to drop off, a ray of hope
All the best
Super capture as ever Dean - keep 'em coming! Hope you are OK? Lou
Wonderful bird and he shows wonderfully against the snow! Patti
Well worth the wait, Dean, a superb capture of this beautiful bird, and so good with the snow as a background. Carol

A cracking shot of this green woodpecker taken at ground level, the detail and colours in the plumage are immaculate and the snow makes the perfect setting

Cracker mate. Such a difficult bird to get.....dead jealous
Always the unexpected that comes up trumps
Must be an ant's nest he is perched against
You could have cleaned his beak first!
Everything comes to those who wait Dean - you must be absolutely chuffed, with the snow a real added bonus - it really sets off the wonderful colour and plumage!
