Back outdoors at the Museum Of Science & Industry, it had just about stopped raining when I captured this, 'Agecroft No.1'. It was built in Newcastle in 1948 and worked at Agecroft Power Station about 3 miles away from MOSI. Retired in 1980 after 32 years shunting coal wagons to feed the power station boilers, the locomotive was bought privately and saved from the scrapheap. It arrived at MOSI in 2008 in a dismantled state and after 3 years of restoration by the volunteers and staff is back in full working order. As with 'Planet' in my earlier upload, it does offer visitors trips along the track, but she was resting today!
Useless info: For those who haven't been or don't know, the MOSI is located right next door to the Granada TV Studios, and immediately behind the Great Western Warehouse seen on the right in the background, which houses the Textile Gallery, is Coronation Street, the rear gardens of the modern side of the street and other premises backing right up to the Warehouse.
Not sure about this new uploading method - after no votes or comments, I realised I should have selected 'submit to gallery'!...and it takes ages... ![]()

Photos>Contribute>Upload a Photo is still by far the easiest route, Trev; much too easy to get inextricably lost in all the others!

Very HDR but excellent nonetheless. Will I be able to cope with the new system when I get back? I hope so as I have squillions of photographs!!!
