Another set from the Danelaw Dark Age Village at the Yorkshire Museum of Farming. Actually found some people in costumes!
The snow has finally arrived here in Wakefield and is settling
I heard on the BBC radio weather reports this morning that the canals in Venice were starting to freeze over - might get the chance to do some skating there when I go in a couple of weeks time!
Techie stuff – see Exif

Much more civilised-looking than the Vikings in Schleswig! and probably far too sophisticated for even the odd spot of looting, pillaging and sacking.
V4, I think . . .

Bill
A lovely set. I'm still thinking back to the reconstructed Viking settlement that we visited in Germany - I wonder if their knitting is the same? If you have time, look here , including V2.
Moira
Another lovely selection Trev - good to see life indoors today too.
Snowing here in Birmingham now too.

Trev.
Such an interesting place, like stepping back in time. V3 is my favourite, I just love the atmosphere and colour of the lady's dress.
And I will be getting the shots of Moira getting those shots...got your thermals sorted? don't forget your gloves this time either![]()

Well Trev V3 in my mind deserves a showing on her own...stunning shot!!
but a good set, but V3 wow!
Lillian
V3.....outside view of the village privy - before the days of toilet paper. An attendant with a bucket of water and a rough cloth. Costs 5 groats for a wash and dry.![]()
Sorry, Trev, just my weird mind going off ay a tangent![]()
V4 almost looks like a miniature, a-la Bourton on the Water model village size. Good job you have the figure to give scale.

What a great chance you got with those people bringing the settlement to life! Nice captures, all through the set.
Johanna
A great set Trev, I love the treatment you have given them too.
