Trastevere is a quaint area of Rome across the Tiber on the west bank. Its narrow cobbled streets and small piazzas make it picturesque, and doesn't have the hustle & bustle that the main areas of Rome have over on the east bank, or further north at St Peters and the Vatican. In the 30°C of midday heat, I just had to take refuge in the shade here at the Pub Antilia on Via della Scala for a refreshing cold beer…Wink

A wonderful image Trevor, I only wish that I could pop straight into it. "If I was allowed to indulge, I would certainly refresh ones palate with a glass of a crisp, dry white...."

It does look a quaint and picturesque part of the City, Trev, and this scene gives a real flavour of the area as well as the ambient temperature and conditions.......warm and inviting.
I am enjoying Rome vicariously through your eyes (and camera, of course), just as I did Switzerland last year.
Ronnie.

A perfectly natural place to seek refuge from the withering heat of the midday sun, Trev. Are you a mad dog or an Englishman?

Lovely capture Trev, the kind my husband would head for on a warm day.
The contures of the buildings with their window boxes add something special too.

So well composed Trev, like the use of the diagonal leading you through the street, lovely light and shade captured!
