Taken from the opposite side of Rothesay Castle to my previous upload, and couldn't decide which of these three I preferred, so uploaded in the order they were taken. Thought a bit of colour was needed in this grey dismal weather that's still with us... ![]()
It was mentioned about the cannon in my last upload pointing towards the Castle, rather than away from it, which does seem rather odd - I think it's been located where it is for the benefit of us tourists! ![]()
Techie stuff – see Exif
Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Photomatix Pro and Elements 6.
Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Each image is worthy of its own upload
3 stunners!!!!
Good set Trev.
And the cannon is a bit of secret Scottish history which I will share with you now.
It is a special design in case the English were to invade us.
They would have got a shock when they tried to use it on the Castle,
as it is a backward firing cannon.
And they think us Scots are stupid !!
Mick.
More wonderful images from this beautiful place.

Three very different compositions, each full of minute detail. It's hard to choose a 'best one', as you say: V1 says the most about the moat and has the best frame using the two trees, V2 shows most of the castle, V3 has an interesting balance between castle and town houses.

Bill
The trees in #1 make a great frame and they also break up the sky
Love the processing again Trev, the cannon reminds me of the time several years ago when I drove a truck three times on a mercy mission to Albania, it was still under Communist rule at that time, great atrocities were made against the Nuns and Priests, will not go into that, but all around the shores are machine gun posts! They are all facing inland, the people were told that the Country was so rich everyone wanted to come to Albania, this went on for many years until they started thinking, if this was the case why were the pill boxes all facing inland! It was the start of the ending of the dictatorship there, by the way the Country is 50 years behind the UK so still unspoiled and beautiful, excuse the rant.
Regards
Trev.
Amazing lawn - mine is full of worm and other animal excavations at the moment ![]()
