Nice one Alan, i too like the curling stones but the gate is too much of a distraction for me and would like to see more of the reflected dramatic sky, keeping it simple, although reflected clouds have been done before. So top marks for using the gate and trying something different but next time i would leave the gate at home !
Another excellent high impact shot Alan, love the winter colours and composition. Next time you shoot in portrait could you also include a landscape format photo so my eye can linger and enjoy more of the beautiful Mountains and loch. In this instance i would move to the left slightly to fill the wider frame and the stones might mirror the mountains ( pointy stone pointy mountain, smooth stone etc.) for an extra bonus point. Keep up the fantastic work, you lucky man !
Always sort the background out first then introduce the model maybe then you will get a more spontaneous look with a smile.
