I know it was hail as it was one of many that passed over the moors that afternoon.

This pic introduces a series of 'Lonesome tree' images, but its more about the amazing storm clouds than the tree. Oh, and its the same tree in the series, i was there for over 2 hours photographing this tree,..................my wife couldn't believe it either...........
It gets worse, this was the best shot after 1 hour, but things start to change in the golden hour................
After all this series was inspired by ade_mcfade satirical look at 'types of photographer' and realised as a landscape tog i hadn't got enough lonesome trees in my pf !!. GrinGrinGrin

A wonderful lonesome tree image and that sky/ storm is amazing. Superb capture and well worth the effort. My husband cannot understand the need for more than one click of the camera nor the need to hang around for different light....in my next life I am going to marry a photographer

Thanks Colleen, it was fantastic watching the clouds and light change, listening to Radio 2, Johnny Walkers 'sounds of the seventies ', time went really quickly. What you need is a tripod for hubby to carry and setup then he will feel useful or make him a member of epz !! Wink

Great shot well done. I like the mood it implies.

You can't beat a lonesome tree image, but as you mention that cloud is pretty impressiveGrin
