Driving back after a disappointing Curbar sunrise i came across this field with dispersing mist giving way to shafts of light .

A very thought evoking and provocative monochrome, however one feels that the colour will take some beating. Very well observed, composed and exposed.

The portrait format exaggerates the track and leaves the tree on a third for a well-balanced composition. Wasn't sure about the placement of the horizon in 1 & 2 but there's something about them which is very appealing. Three fine images, Trevor.

I think v1 is the best but that's only my opinion, however they are all pretty spectacular.

Thanks everyone for some great comments. 10/10 Dave, that was exactly my thinking, the light was moving quickly but both tree and sun were concentrated in the same area unbalancing the landscape format but makes satisfactory portrait. I hurried down the track so that tree would be on r/h side but mist had cleared, it was that quick.
