Driving back after a disappointing Curbar sunrise i came across this field with dispersing mist giving way to shafts of light .
Excellent light, well exposed, no. 2 in colour is my favourite!!
A very thought evoking and provocative monochrome, however one feels that the colour will take some beating. Very well observed, composed and exposed.
Image 1 is great super mono image
The portrait format exaggerates the track and leaves the tree on a third for a well-balanced composition. Wasn't sure about the placement of the horizon in 1 & 2 but there's something about them which is very appealing. Three fine images, Trevor.
I think v1 is the best but that's only my opinion, however they are all pretty spectacular.
3 for me
Thanks everyone for some great comments. 10/10 Dave, that was exactly my thinking, the light was moving quickly but both tree and sun were concentrated in the same area unbalancing the landscape format but makes satisfactory portrait. I hurried down the track so that tree would be on r/h side but mist had cleared, it was that quick.
Undecided between 1 & 3 but defo the monos rule. Cycled down there a few times myself. Congrats on the award too
I think all versions are excellent. Composed very well with some great lead in lines. Well done too on the award, it is very well deserved
