Mono version of a shot I took down the road from home, of our latest tourist attraction here on the Fylde Coast
Original version here; Mary's Shell
A fine minimal comp and conversion. Howdy neighbour
Wonderful in mono.
Been to the Fylde Coast too many times recently!
Good repeat viewing of this artifact, Jeanie.
Beautifully toned and love that sky
Superb photography worthy of many accolades.
it is a real classy image.
Thank you Neighbour, Peter, Ken, Les, Chris, Jeremy, Nathan and Billy.
Les and Jeremy - thank you both gents for your UA and GEA! Well chuffed
Like it lots Jeanie, but I'd tweak the horizon.
Thanks Adam.. just checked on photoshop with a tool or two and its very very marginal
Fabulous image, great mono. Ann.
Excellent composition with the light in the right place too !. V1 works for me v2 looks like a Nottingham factory.

Agreed, but once seen, because of the minimalist composition IMHO it stands out. Note: I'm in no way saying its a bad image - I'd have it my PF any day - rather that it could be strengthened further (from the little I know of you - your standards are very high).
Edit: Just seen the version - better in my opinion.
All appreciated Adam and why I went back and moved the beer mat thank you
Ann and Trevor - thank you very much.
Trevor thank you so much for your User Award - it is very much appreciated
Appreciate the isolation of the ' shell ' - but as it is the focal point of the image I am surprised nobody has mentioned the glaring halo's around the curves - outside and in. !!!!!!!!
A simple composition but there is plenty to admire here Jeanie. A great sky with good movement. The blurred wave(s) in the foreground provide a nice tonal contrast with the sculpture. I do prefer the mono to the colour version as well.
2p under the monitor soon sorted it
Thanks Bri, Derek and Chris
Bri - you are clearly bothered by what you see but on my two moniters I cannot see what you are seeing - I will check again tomorrow in the light of day though.
The colour really wowed me and the mono does too, I'd echo what Derek says right up to the preference part: colour still my favourite but this would do, especially once I cocked my head to 45 degrees

No - not bothered Jeanie - just saying what I see. If you are happy with it - fair enough.
Absolutely love it to bits, Jeanie. Gorgeous.
Cheers Al and Ian..
Ian many thanks indeed for your User Award
Bri it was the exclamation marks that did it lol! I take on board all comments (ie the wonky horizon) and I shall , as I say, recheck the original tomorrow in natural daylight..
Just had another look and its definitely the wonky colour one with the halo for me............is that V1 or V2 ?.
Another real gem Jeanie.. simply marvellous.
Jeanie, A fantastic mono image and it does it for me.
What a cracking image - I can imagine that gracing a wall.
Thank you Mark, Brian and Alun
Thank you Team for the EC - unexpected and very pleased
