Different, but really works. Nicely balanced light, good lines, simple composition....really good stuff
I don't think you've done anything wrong in this picture. Your model looks relaxed and she is well posed. Her left foot (to our right) is close to the edge of the frame so something you need to be careful of. The important thing is you've sorted the background out, it is very subdued with no bright highlights to distract the eye.
A good competent portrait, in a relaxed setting.

You could be right about her arms, it's as though she is using them to cover something up, but it looks ok to me.
Professional models know how to pose so you don't have to worry about that, if you are using friends or models with limited experience, you need to direct them more. Hands and arms can be a big problem, digital 'film' is free so experiment as much as you want.
Congrats on the EC Kristijonas, can't be bad to get one of these.
