A beautiful shot. Some noise visible in the background, not a whole lot, depending on the crop.
Ive uploaded a mod with some noise removal, a crop to a 10 X 8 format, lifted blacks a little, and converted to sRGB colour profile. You uploaded with Adobe RGB, so some browsers may not be viewing colours correctly. Convert to sRGB for web images.

First off, wonderful shot - wish we could photograph squirrels locally but we have none!
Now, correct me if I'm wrong but maybe a slightly faster shutter speed and a slightly wider aperture would have better frozen the motion visible in the hands and better show the eating behaviour of this squirrel, (you could have used 5.0 aperture to compensate for faster shutter for instance, given that a higher ISO would be a no-no given the noise levels). This would probably result in a slightly sharper facial area and more blurring in the background so focusing correctly (on the eyes and face) would be even more critical.
Like the modification too.
I'm quite new to photography and this was only the third time I'd been out with this lens. I welcome any constructive criticism (I like the modification too) and can only hope to improve. ![]()
Can't criticise as I would love to have taken a shot like this.
The modification does make an improvement.
