Spectral lighting

Spectral lightingA very nice image that we all try to get when we go there..
I think you have done a great job here..
There a cable or something that needs a blend or clone tool used on it..
Centre top, from tower to top of image...

Winging in the Rain

Winging in the RainV1 then V3 for me...
I do like the rain and detail in the birds..
May be your photoshop skills are low but have a look at the staps on the bird.
Can you clone them out?
They do distract...
I like the detail in the face of the barn owl...
Have a look at some of my new photos...
I found a site that takes the staps off the birds when flying them...
This I think help to improve the bird.
Well taken looking forward to your new images...

first dragon

first dragonA great 1st time image..
You got the basics now all you need to do is refine your skills...
More DOF and faster shutter speed will help...
That way you get more detail and wings frozen in time..
It this first slow down shoutter speed to gain little movement..
That a lot harder but get basic skills right bag the shot and then try advance images...
Great work...
Do not give up..
You are all most there...

Eudicella beetle

Eudicella beetleLove the colours..
There a lot of light in image may be you could have gone to a higher F Stop.
That way you get more of the bug sharp and a bigger focal area at a shorter shorter shutter speed.
F stops at macro level have a very short focal length.
F16 would be only 1 cm more if you were lucky.
F8 is less than half that...
It looks like you have centre point on focus that why the boby very sharp and losing a little on head and legs...
Do not get me wrong..
It a great image...
It been taken very well...
More info I hope will help you improve on your work...
Well done...

Sand Geckos

Sand GeckosAs I not able to see the detail I am geussing that it is..
I think a tighter crop would be nice...
I would cropall the shadow out so it just underneath there home ..
The top side is quite dull so a crop above Gecko then crop front right side where that shadow is..
That should balance image...

I hope you understand me..

Quackers Giving Orders

Quackers Giving OrdersThere a nice image here..
You got the eye with a catch light in it that the light spot in the eye..
The colour in the feather look a like bit on the bright side this may be dew to the bright sun light...
Please leave a little room in front of the duck so it leaves the mind that it got room to move in to...
It looks like you got a nice nikon D7000 and a nice VR lens...
I would set camera to A for Apture and learn about depth of feild (DOF) A low F like 2.8 will blur very quickly outside focal area so it not sharp..
A high F like F22 You find it very sharp from front to back of image..
If it a bright day shutter will go quick a dull day shutter will stay open longer...
The key is finding right shutter speed and right F stop of the image...
Do not over do the colours on birds or animals..
but you might need to boost them in some images if a little dark...
I can go on....
Just take your time and understand your camera and you get better very quickly...

The Water Taster

The Water TasterA great image...
Love the water doplets..
Nice colours...
I found the eye a little hard to see..
May be use the dodge tool or sponge to lighten or add colour and pick out catch light in the eye..
This I hope will give you a conection between you and the swan...
Great work...

You looking at me? Punk?

You looking at me? Punk?A very nice macro...
You need a very high F stop if you want all antena and eyes sharp..
The antena looks very sharp but eyes are a little soft..
A very hard image to get right..
See CarolG portfilo above as she has some magic images in macro...

Dave
Glamour Nude Photoshoot in Sussex, England, UKShe a great looking model..
Nice pose..
I not sure about light over face a dark cast just on main features...
The right eye has what I think may be her nose shadow going in towards her eye...
Small things like this are easy mist at the time...
It when you get on PC check face to lighting and shadows..
I have not done much stuido work but these are things friends point out at my club...

Nice work..

Motel Fetish with Ruby True

Motel Fetish with Ruby TrueA great image I agree about the table..
She looks like a big doll...
There a second shadow on the wall behind her may be from a light in front the first shadow over the fire which I am happy with...
I like to feel I can see her eyes and I not sure I can conect with them...
Other wise I am happy with image..
Great work...

Dave
Feeling alittle off colour todayLove the colours...
Be carefull when you mask..
There is a heavey out line over top of face and head...
This is a bit distracting...
Other wise great work...

Lancaster Canal

Lancaster CanalGreat reflection..
You might get a better image by going in tighter to the bridge and using the reflection as main focal point...
There not going on eather side so crop it out use the path as lead in...
Right hand side crop just after the tree...
Then balance top bottom of image to your eyes..
I think it a great image just like to make it stronger to view...

Floating Beetle

Floating BeetleThe lead in from the right side is very nice...
You have the subject in right place..
You also have great DOF to keep image sharp and clear.
Nice colours and tones.
Even got texture...
You are eye to lens hight....
The only thing is I like to look at it face on...
It a small thing and and it very hard to do..
As you move and when you get in to right place they move it a pain...
You are realy good...
Keep up your high standards...

AMERICAN GOLDFINCH . . .

AMERICAN GOLDFINCH . . .A very nice image...
If you could tone down bright areas beside the bird I think you would have a magic image...

snow leopard

snow leopardA great image...
I think the background need to be a little more out of focus...
A lower Fstop would give it a better DOF (DEPTH OF FEILD)

Eilean Donan Castle

Eilean Donan CastleA very nice low light image...
It very hard to keep castle from bleaching out in light...
May be do 2 exposers one for castel and the other for low light...
Then put them together as a HDR...
I know it hard to get 100% right as a single shot.
I have tryed so many times...
Great work keep plugging away at it and you be best in the country...
Dave
May i ask for some assistance please?I do like this image...
I few things stand out which I not happy with but the do some think nice to the image..
The first is... the harsh light to the left side of lady...
It burns out the edge..
I like it but not happy with it...
This in-turn has burn out the dress so that white has lost detail...
The good things now...
The eyes are nice and sharp..
I like the pose...
There lots of detail to the shady side of her...
The image has a lot going for it....
Well done...
