Just some fun images for Sunday, an Arctic Tern protecting its nest on Inner Farne, V4 employing a different technique, the evidence is on his hat.

Terns are my favourite sea birds without a doubt, and this is a lovely sequence, Nigel, each moment skilfully caught. Nice one!

A great sequence. Arctic terns can be really vicious and this little blighter is no exception. I have had this experience myself on Spitzbergen, returning to the cruise ship with a hole in my hat. Another member of the party was not so lucky - she returned with a hole in her head and had to be treated by the ship's doctor.

Like Colleen I go for V4, it's so precise and surreally formal. It deserves its own upload.

Nicely captured set Nigel. Reminded me of when I was about 10 yr old and went to the Farne Island. My Dad got attacked by a Tern in exactly the same way .

I am giving this a UA partly because of its value as a warning to anyone visiting an Arctic Tern colony. Take heed, folks.
