I rather liked the backlit Buzzard against a dark hedge and since that shot, I have looked for other opportunities where the bird is reasonably well lit, but the background, hedge, tree, is in shadow. This just happens to be another Buzzard, but I also have the same effect with Swans, Owls and others.
