This was taken through my window on a dark day so a lot of detail has been lost but it is so cute I thought it was worth sharing. Mother woodpecker worked so hard feeding her chick while he just sat in the feeder tray!

Thank you Mark. I am fortunate enough to live right next to a woodland, in fact our garden gate opens directly into it. So all the woodland birds come to the feeder including the nuthatch which is always nice to see.

Needless to say he has now grown up and flown the nest as all kids do! Thanks for your comment Sammy and for taking the time to look through my p/f. I appreciate it very much.

A terrific well-timed shot & hope they are still visiting.
(Unfortunately the magpies are attacking our nuts & keeping the WPs away)

Now that's a shame because I get magpies too but they are unable to get to the feeder because there is a guard around it. They mostly forage on the ground. It's the same story as last year with the woodpeckers - mother busy feeding her chick who is almost as big as she is and quite capable of feeding itself! It's a wonderful thing to watch from my window.
