I think I have seen two in 30 years or so, both zoomed off the moment they saw me(g)

Thanks Leo. I spotted it and had to go indoors to fetch my camera fully expecting it to be gone by the time I got back. But it actually stayed on the plant sunning itself for quite a while so I was able to get several shots. This was the best one.
