A Lasting Defence

A Lasting Defence by keithh

Visibly orange..

no problems here, works really well and as you say 'bright and breezy' comes through nicely.

Think this works well in B&W. The conversion helps the textures and shadows in the foreground stand out and B&W for the rock is just right.

Looks like I've missed plenty of your shots in the gallery, will have a browse of the p/f. And keep a better eye out in future.

Browsing your p/f I came across this and was sure I'd clicked it the first time around - but maybe someone else has a simlar shot. Anyway, great shot and great PS work to remove the half-people.

Tough call between this and the colour version. I think this may just have the edge for me, but I'm wondering if you could have toned down the exposure on the water just a little for a bit more texture.

Still undecided if I prefer todays B&W..

ideal material for a B&W i guess, coal and pale ruddy yorkshire skin. :o)

Works for me Paul, like the bright skyline highlighting the silouette of the rocks.

Ulswater

Tough getting all that contrast in the shot and retaining the details, but it's worked nicely. The mist in the background isn't bad either. Did you make it to the top? Wink

Nice of them to pose in formation like that for you Mike!

Good strong lead in on this one and a great ragged horizon.

RAC Rally 1

Another cracker. Like the inclusion of the spectators and looks like you've got a far better (not to mention safer) place to take pictures from Smile

RAC 2

What a great shot! Very jealous I didn't get out there to grab some like this.

Pin sharp and plenty of sideways action and the snow on the trees finish it off.

I did a skid pan day a few years ago and when you're going sideways they tell you to look where you want to go, so it's slightly concerning that the driver and navigator are staring straight at you! :o)

Really really good rally shot IMO.

Gold + Blue on Curbar

Gold + Blue on Curbar by sut68

Lacking in interest for me. Maybe its just this dull screen, but it doesn't stand out for me really.

Needs either a forground focal point maybe?

not quite there for me. soz.

Excellent mountain shots from you as usual. A great part of the country, especially at this time of year.

Good work, really stands out, but bizarrely the crop makes him look like he's standing still even though the shot was panned..?
