Another car which had eluded me for some time, a year or so ago it was due to it's unreliability or driver error..
At Le Mans the driver almost completely destroyed it at the practice weekend, the ACO went to the unprecedented step of allowing them a new chassis (something which isn't allowed under race repairs in the championship), basically because of it's rarity.
Then in the race it didn't last much longer until another major failure.

At Silverstone this year though, it ran for most if not all of the race and I got a few good shots. Bit tricky to process due to the colour of the car, the details get lost quite easily.

race cars are always difficult to picture, but this really looks great.. and by the strips on the road you know how fast it went...

Great action shot really sharp. MotorSPaort never seems to get much attention on here so you have got my vote.

How fast was it going?

Super shot. One of those types of photography I've always fancied trying my hand at but never gotten around too.

Hi Marc, this is after Stowe on the way down through Vale (I think)
http://www.circuitdriver.com/guides/silverstone.asp
So probably just over 100mph I guess.

Digital is ideal for learning motorsports photography, you don't have to worry about the 50% you throw away at the track or the 45% you throw away when you get home... Smile

vaughar, thanks for that.

If you only walked away with 5 shots like this out of a 100, you'd have to be a happy man Smile

Usually about 30 or 40 out of 300, so that must mean I'm ecstatic!

Usually am, just that I can't get the other half to allow me to decorate the house with car shots Wink

Hi

Thanx for your comments, I guess by the back ground you pan as oposed to picking a spot.
I can appreciate the difference, the motion blur on the background gives a feel of the speed these guys do. Excellent image, deserves more praise.
