Hope you all had a good weekend, as predicted I didn't have a chance to take any photos, but did enjoy Schumachers performance. Shame he didn't make it to the podium.
Back to something a little more sedate, this is a shot of Tim Harvey on the penultimate lap of the Carrera cup at Silverstone a couple of weekend back. They appeared around this corner in this formation lap after lap after lap. Each time they took slightly different lines and each time the arrived back here in the same order.
Not sure you can see it on this smaller shot, but on the large version you can see all 6 eyes focussing on the apex of the corner, not the car that is 6 inches from their bumper.
Was trying some closer up work, but this is as close as you can get at Luffield with a 400mm lens. Used a relatively quick shutter speed to allow the shot to remain sharp without having to pan too much and hand holding the lens. Just enough to freeze the cars.
Still with me? :o)
Slight crop top to bottom, Levels etc. EXIF is on my home PC, but probably about 1/200th @f8?

Looks like the lead car is a touch out of focus, with the middle car being the focus point. Intentional or just how it happened? Either way I'd like to see the front car in focus and let the others drift out of focus.
A touch of selective sharpening could pull it back.
Still like it.
Ian, thats down to motion rather than focus. Took a few and panned a little on a couple to keep Harvey super sharp, but preferred the composition (positioning of the cars) in this one.
Was a fine line between keeping the wheels in motion and freezing the cars. Was wondering if anyone would notice! ![]()

Super capture Rob, great angle and colour, excellent focus, well taken, indeed, Adrian
Hello Rob, I like the colours and clarity but I think a little more emphasis on the motion would add to the beauty captured. Quality shot.
Doug.
brilliant action shot, like all the action , and the colour...
