A glorious day at the equestrian dressage ParaOlympics today. The sun shone, the crowd cheered and Sophie Wells won a silver medal - yet another for the British Para Equestrian team. This shows her leaving the arena after her test. I chose to focus on her rather than the flag waving spectators & got this shot before my 24-105 lens decided to break down.

Been away from epz for a while, so apologies for not looking at anyone's recent images. Off to the Paras again tomorrow, but hope to catch up with epz members properly at the weekend.

Nice photo journalism. The competitor seems tiny, lost in her own world. The image is more about the crowd than the event despite the focus, but the lone competitor is still crucial.

Proud to be British and this image creates a great view of the events. It is more about the crowd than the event and this is what makes the image so good. Excellent capture Smile

Congratulations for your picture.

I agree with the members who have commented on the flags, they give a sense of pride to you and support to the Olympian. I think all these special athletes are winners who deserve our applaud.
By the way, it would be nice if you were uploading your picture in the forum post I have created for the Olympic Games. This is the link: www.ephotozine.com/forums/topic/olympic-games--a-fantastic-photographic-opportun...

Thank you!

Makes the arena look bigger than it seemed there Vicky. Gives a feel of what it was like to be there

A great occasion and a lovely shot. Disappointed to see so many empty seats, we were at the athletics last night and the only empty seats were those right in front of the medal podiums - no doubt all the tickets given out by the sponsors - which just happened to be opposite where we were seated, The rest of the stadium was packed and when David Weir won his second gold medal the noise was incredible!

The empty seats are reserved for the press/media and seem to be the same at every stadium - unfortunate that, as you say, they are right in front of the podium. I felt the podium should be the other way round so the medal winners can see the packed stands full of the hoi-polloi - i.e. us - cheering and waving.

Very good, super nice colors too.

Very expressive. If you feel that you are actually in the stadium.
beautiful
