The closest image I've seen on this site, that gives me similar enjoyment to looking at a Dali painting.

I hate to say this, but I agree with Pete! Wink
His comment is spot on. Congrats on the EC, Victor, it's well deserved. I think this is a very well balanced composition, even the colours are well balanced. And it does have that organised semi-chaos and controlled semi-randomness that you do indeed see in art by Dali. Excellent job!

Conrad

P.S. Best wishes for 2006, by the way, Victor - may it be a healthy, happy and prosperous year for you!

WOW!! Thank you all so much, never quite know how the personal photos will go across at times as in its very nature its a personal montage of feelings and emotions all put together in a surreal, symbolic way. Thanks Pete you'll never know how much that statement means to me, glad to see so many Dali fans out there.
To everyone who takes the time to look a little deeper, a big thanks.

take care Victor

Have a HUGE hug for a HUGE peice of work Smile

"Though we share this humble path alone, How fragile is the heart
OH give these clay feet wings to fly: To touch the face of the stars.
Breathe life into this feebles heart....lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above theses earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seem endless....
Please remember me "

The verse I was listening too when I opened your image, thought you might like me to share it.Used the same song for my work this morning too....how spooky is that! Grin x

Oh Yes! Awesome image and wonderful work Victor. I love the way you interpret a shot and the feelings behind it, you sum it all up so perfectly. If only we could unlock those betrayals and memories we have, life would be so much better.

Congratulation on the award, it is so deserved. I'd hate to be Pete viewing your work, I'd be giving them all EC's!

Tracy

Interstingly I was actually looking at Dali's work last week at the Tate - and yes, this really is 'esque'.
Excellent piece of work.
Best wishes, Simon

It is sometimes the "personal" work that strikes home to more people than you can imagine. It can bring a realisation that you are not as 'alone' as you think you are.

This has probably been said, but once again I've shown up late again and there are too many comments here for me to read just now! But this is one of your more poignant self-portraits, and the theme of the image carries over the bright colours. It's another cracker, and I hope it's creation didn't take too hard a toll on you.

Dear Victor.....
I'm checking this one out a little late, My Apologies...

This emotes an emotional reflection in time and I praise your talents for a job well done......I spent the last 30 minutes going over the pieces of this puzzle and decided against trying to analyze it and just tell you how very special you are!

A Sincere Congrats to you for a well-deserved EC....♥

I remember this picture back when I first started here on ePHOTO...could have sworn that I voted and commented on it deeply, but somehow I got lost in the shuffle, never the less..Not to late to make mention, that for my own life reasons....this happens to remain my most favorite of your work.... Perhaps it is because it's as if you have taken a snap of my life along with yoursSmile AWSOME... I have you bookmarked this time Vic...Sorry
