I sit watching the big glass tit feed me images of war, death, destruction and human suffering on a grand scale and I ask myself where does each new generation of mankind fit into this world.
I have to admit I have been trying long and hard to get of the med for depression but with each new day makes that wish seem a little further.

Well great song title! And I agree with the sentiments expressed in your description... so many people are on all sorts of medication - some of which are virtual and hardly understood too. Like the partched earth analogy / metaphor in this.

Very strong image Victor, what does the future hold for the children of today? when the men and women who govern us live in wallet world I fear the worst because they have children too and they dont seem to have given it much thought. Revolution is due methinks?

Knew it was yours immediatley Victor, congrats and well done. Personally I don't think mankind are any better or worse than at any time in our history. Technology beams it into our livingrooms on an hourly basis now though. We are force fed a diet of war, economic gloom and hatred. It's unavoidable and while its prefectly understandable, and indeed expected, to be horrified and effected by it all, the vast majority of us are powerless to do anything about it. Stay well victor. Paul

yes, I agree, very thought provoking.

the technology exists and shows us these things directly. Before it was all too distant and we were unaware of the suffering. Now we can see it with our own eyes. This is a new thing.

As each new generation witnesses these things, and the technology continues to grow, shrinking the world, then i believe the generations to come will be empowered to say, "stop" and do something about it.

We are in the inbetween stage, aware but feeling powerless.

that's my opinion!!

time to put the soapbox away!!

steve

Or they will become so desensatised by allthe images that they will be unaffected and do nothing..

Victor...there has always been war, death and destruction, and always will be.....but there is also peace, life and compassion...all are part of the human condition, but you are concentrating your thoughts on one side only.

Time for you to look to the light my friend, and i hope that you find peace of mind there.

A very poignant image, Victor.

I share your sentiments - the world does seem to be in such a terrible state just now, and there's a bleakness about the future. That said, however, there is also hope as well, and lots of kind souls out there. Smile

I hope you're managing alright with your depression - been there, and I know the hell that it can be. Stay strong.

Michael.

Made me think of the song by the 'Disposable Hero's of Hiphoprisy'. Television the drug of a nation. Has the line 'Television with its cathode ray nipple, the only wet nurse to create a cripple'

So if nothing else you are not alone in your sentiments Victor. I hope you are coping ok, and for what it's worth, there's all the fans of your work and your mindset out here rooting for you.
