The Pergola Walk runs one full side of The Italian Garden at Hever Castle in Kent. With its shady grottoes and views over the four-acre garden it borders, there is always something flowering here, starting with camellias early in the year followed by wisteria, Virginia creeper and grape vines.

Unusual composition, creating a sense of mystery, particularly with the figure disappearing through the hedge.

A calming image with its gentle palette; yet closer inspection reveals an underlying dynamic. The first three areas reading from the left are tranquillity epitomised; then the final area has that strong perspective as the pergola leads us away into the distance. Most unusual; I rather like it!

Nice shot. Beautifully captured by the prospect. Grapes are amazing. The play of light and shadow admires.
