Hi Wajid,

Nice DOF with this image but can I suggest a slightly different crop. I think you can still keep the DOF and focus on the leaf if you cropped the image into a portrait style. Also with a little shapening you can bring out a touch more detail in the veins of the leaf.

Take care

Martin

You need to give us a bit more technical data. Straighten the horizon and sharpen the image, but you then need some better more dramatic lighting to lift the image. Brighter lighting, a touch of flash or, best, some backlight.

I feel that the leaves would have been better taken from the side so that both leaves were on more of an equal focal plane and both would have been focused the same, whereas here you have the bottom left too close to the camera lens and it is therefore out of focus. An alternative would be to concentrate on just the one large leaf and get as much detail as possible.
Portrait/vertical format would have suited your subject better, giving more of the nice red stem and avoiding "dead" space on both sides.
A nice attempt, Wajid, but it does need to be a bit sharper, even with just the one leaf in focus, to show the patterns of the veining and the attractive red edging that the leaf has.
Pamela.
