Great lead in line to a brooding horizon. I like both versions. By: ArtyArt |
I too love the feel of this image. I had a look at your PF & really like the way you create your images. They do have a feel of watercolour paints on canvas. I'd love to know the process. By: whatriveristhis |
Very nice....I like variant 4 personally. Good mixture of tones. By: Michaela_Solway |

Simple, serene & lovely composition. A great shot. By: almiles |
Thanks for your comments Derek & Hermanus. Derek I too wondered about the horizon before I uploaded the shot so I pulled down the ruler tool in Elements to check it. From left to right the shot is level however the converging shorelines of Taransay on the right & the Harris mainland on the left does give a curved appearance. I'm sure the wide angle focal length of 10mm was a contributing factor also. By: wanny |
Well posed.................lovely. By: Jeffdingo |
great shot....I love both versions. By: mikesmith |
A great shot I was desperate to get a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the weather was wet & mild.......there's always another time. By: bill33 |

Thanks to all..............mrswoolybill it's nice to hear from someone who is obviously local to me. I took a photo of this bridge must be 25 years ago on a late summers evening.....I was on the road from Hagg Bank to Wylam looking into the setting sun. I have tried many times to get this shot again but it just hasn't happened. This is such a nice bridge to stand on & ponder .........take your camera next time. By: wanny |

All credit to you Johnathan..........I spent an hour at Dunstanburgh taking a similar shot,,,,,these rocks are much larger than they look....I was knackered & tripod placement is a nightmare....well done. By: JonathanCombe |
As usual a wonderful eye for composition that many of us miss. Very well taken. By: jeanie |
Thanks to all who have voted for this shot. Some of your names are becoming very familiar.........as I mentioned in the comments I took this shot in May 2010....I enjoy looking back at older stuff & seeing how other members feel about it. I'm a tad puzzled why the exif isn't available as I never disable it. I personally like to see this information on other peoples photographs as it adds to my knowledge. Does anyone out there know why it's not shown?? By: wanny |
Beautiful light & composition. Welldone. By: jeanie |
