I like the idea of your recent shots like this but it doesn't quite work for me. I think it's because the letters are so recognisable as Scrabble tiles so it messes up the simplicity of the original message I feel.

thanks lauren, probably would explain the poor response then. it works for me anyway, dunno what other letters i could have used. unless people are just not getting it, the grass is greener...

Nice idea,

Andy

I think people are getting it alright, just seems a bit too obvious.

On another note...as part of my GCSE photography back in school we had to do a fair amount of still life work. For mine I chose to do breakfast advertising and I did a shoot for "Cereal Killer" like your last one. I had a scene set out with variety pack cereal boxes all stabbed and bursting in the scene (into the distance on white sheeting background). I then set up a silhouette (via cardboard cut out) of a figure holding a knife up - lit by snoot light. I got the shadow to fall over the scene.

Just an idea in a similar thought - but without the obvious lettering.

The shot itself didn't really turn out very well (and didn't go into my final slide submissions, but it was fun to do. I got a lot of my inspiration for those set ups from Gary Larson (Far Side) cartoons.

Sorry to waffle, but I hope it is useful or of interest to you.

Regards,
L
