Approach to Skiddaw summit, taken the day before Good Friday, 2006 - though I suspect this may be a common image. My memory is of a long slog with the last 2-300 feet of height enveloped in freezing fog.
Then, suddenly, 10 minutes later, the fog lifted to give a lovely, warm spring day with excellent visibility to Ullswater and Derwentwater.
