I have no expertise in the work that you have done with this image but I am very impressed with the outcome Elaine. You have certainly captured all that you intended.

Looks alright as it is.

I suspect the blue on the door and on the marble floor comes from the dome above, It would have stained glass. As far I can remember this tiny church has a form of "basilica" in its most plain form, one main corridor, no side ailses. Normally the dome is supported by a vertical construction to the main corridor, creating what is called "basilica with a cross". You may have actually passed that point and shot beyond the meeting point. Looking at the temple picture you have Virgin Mary on the left, Jesus on teh right, the saint whose name is given to the church next to Jesus (John the Baptist in our occasion and on the two servant entrances Arch-Angels Michael and Gabriel. This church is tiny so I can't say who is teh saint next to Virgin Mary. The high chair on the right is for an Archbishop and the wooden construction behind it supports the psalm books during ceremonies. You have used your lens nicely to include all these but you can also go closer and find interesting close ups.

I used the photo merge option in Elements 10. I'm just learning how to use it, but I'll probably use it more now that I'm getting the hang of it and can see the results it can yield.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my shot, and your nice comments.

I took a few shots of church interiors when I was on holiday in Kos. Because of the dark interiors it was difficult to get a shot that was sharp enough. I knew that the subject would make a lovely image if I could manage to get a sharp enough image with a decent exposure to work on.

I'm glad I persisted, especially when I get encouraging comments from my fellow EPZ'ers.
