Hardraw Falls in the Yorkshire Dales

Very impressive and fast running at this time of year.

Just after I set up my camera and tripod and was clicking away this couple turned up and got into their own photoshoot. I decided to include them in the frame as they give a sense of scale. I thought the colour of their clothing was quite harmonious with the surroundings too.

I've processed this one in Photomatix to keep detail in the water and reduce any blown highlights. I've tried to avoid too heavy an HDR feel to the image.

Thanks for looking
Elaine Grin

Wow, Elaine, looks like you had some fun there!! I like the way you have framed the image with the trees on either side.

The inclusion of the figures adds a wonderful sense of scale to this great image.

It's a few years since I visited here. Great capture, Elaine - and though often I find people intruding into your shots is a nuisance, here it works well and gives the Falls a sense of scale Smile
