This is one of the steam trains from the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway standing at 'Whistle Halt'. Whistle Halt stands at 1307 feet above sea level, and is the highest, standard gauge, station in England & Wales. Next to the station is the Whistle Inn, famous for its collection of miners lamps
The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway was started in 1980, and is operated exclusively by volunteers.
Thanks for looking.
Phil

Nice one Phil...there is a Septmber Steam rally there when hopefully the weather will be a bit more conducive to getting the steam showing.

The first mod up-loaded incorrectly. The second had a slight anti-clockwise turn and a play with colour and contrasts as well as lightening some of the shadows to show detail. The colour balance was tweaked a bit and a bit of sharpening.

A good shot.

Alan.
