An afternoon walk in Weardale today got me this one, though I managed to stay dry...

Lovely shot Alan, might have been tempted to go for a squareish crop and get rid of the trees in the fg

Thanks Jeremy, but I don't really see how that's possible without the bottom of the frame coming up against the fence, which would look wrong to my eye. Besides which, the line of trees provides a base for the image, balances the tonal distribution through the frame, and mimics the cloud forms, providing a kind of vertical symmetry, with the lone tree being the pin that holds everything together.
Thanks for your input.

Alan, your landscapes are amazing. This one's a gem. The sheep dotted around takes it to an even higher level.

Ordered across the centre, Mother Nature has reminded us of her supremacy by ruffling the top and bottom with her trees and clouds. Mono brings out the scatter of sheep and adds another layer to this, as well as enhancing the play of light that gives an impression of being carefully placed - which it has, with the composition you have chosen.

Those well ordered, sectioned off fields reminds me of a young child's puzzle. This is beautiful countryside, and I would love to see this one in color as well.

V2 is gorgeous!!!!!! the mono is sedate and rather abstract, but the color is brimming with fertility and life.
Thank you....have my pink diamond for v2!

What can I say, both Mono and Colour work superbly well, a patchwork of light and texture that works beautifully well.
