Without the water it is a beautiful little image with lovely gradation of colour.
With the water it has become a striking piece af art. A small amount of water wouldn't work
but the large expanse makes a bold statement.

Totally beautiful in its simplicity. The light itself is the protagonist of this image.
Lovely moment of solitude and silence.

Looks a wet day for a row across there, but makes for a fine image with that composition and crop.

Unmistakably your vision, an intensely personal response. And it needs colour, for that patch of acid, angry light.

Very well observed and arranged image with the expanse and texture of the water and the light leading the eye into the impressive scree sided valley.

Simply love that composition, Alan. The patch of light on the fellside renders the valley a desirable place to be; setting it across the water makes it look almost unattainable, Shangri-La rather than Shap Fell (sorry for managing only partial alliteration to accompany the geographical nonsense Blush).

An exceptional image with masses of appeal. This breaks so many rules so beautifully. I love the lack of reflection and the daring composition, in fact there's nothing I don't love about this piece.
