Thanks to all who voted for "pot," and I'm especially grateful to
Charlotte and pablophotographer for their UAs.

I know I don't usually do flowers, but the delicacy of this plant's small blossoms belies the sharpness of its thorns.
Also, the Irish Shillelagh is often made from Blackthorn... and of course you can make Sloe Gin from the berries.
There, I hope I've justified this peek at my feminine side.

Well you should let your feminine side out more often.
The whites are perfectly controlled.
Beautiful border also.
Hope you made some sloe gin!

Beautiful delicate blossoms resplendent in the backlighting, a reminder spring is on the way. I do like blackthorn for the relatively short lived blossom and Sloes in the Autumn, planted a mixed hedge with a lot of it three years ago, hopefully might get some blossom this year.

Think Kate's comment says it all for me. Blackthorn sounds like a perfect female plant, intoxicating, beautiful to look at and dangerous if you cross the line without an invitation Wink

Plus fragrant of course...
Next thing you'll be owning up to wearing a thong.
Seriously this is gorgeous, composition and processing-wise. It has the fleeting intensity that dreams bring.
I will just mention one small area, I think the V shape between the bottom centre flower and the twig needs softening a bit. And that's not just down to calibration...

Damn. Missed that. Does look a bit rough. Am currently slapping my wrist.
Don't know what I'd do without you, Moira.......... relax, probably.

No, don't fancy that creeping feeling. Sorry to disappoint you though.

Imperfect beauty is always more interesting anyway... This gets my award, still the best flower shot I've seen in ages.
Relax...

I was enjoying this delightful image and then I saw some comments, one from a lady which caught my eye.
I'm now trying to blank out the image of Alan and a thong.

The curse of good memory.

Child of the 60s? flower power? Should do these more often, Alan, the presentation is sumptuous.
