Not keen on Marmite, but I do like the composition and lighting in this image, Alan.Smile

An image from an artist's eye.
Detail in those horizon shadows but it's the foreground rock shapes which really appeal.

Another very well observed image, Alan. The crop and position of the light on the water with the land on the left works really well and just enough detail on the distant hillsides, real Northern light and a good sense of how Cow Green really is in situ.

Quote: real Northern light

Perfect.
Almost expecting night to fall - there is a certain air of 'last rays'.

I like the solidity of the distant hills in conjunction with the crumbling bank mid frame . The stillness and emptiness is almost therapeutic. I want to go to Cow Green!!

Unlike the freezing cold, and the howling wind that's usually coming off the water! GrinGrin

You've gone and spoilt it now. I was meditating listening to the lapping of the water on the bank.

Looking quite benign in your image and with a hint of warmth in the sky.
