Verynice.

I might be tempted to clone out the 3 black planks on RH edge?

Superb tones & textures, atmospherically entrancing.
I shall leave the composition to my Other Half . . .

I've spent a while looking at this. The three planks on the right are a quirky element, they add a disturbing feel, tension and mystery. I still think I'd prefer the image without them. I would go for a square crop from the left hand side, just the boat, two posts and their shadows. Simplicity and calm. But I suspect that's not entirely what you wanted.

I totally agree - it will improve the image. The only tension and mystery I get from them is the distraction they cause me Wink They look more like a blemish on the negative than an intentional inclusion in the frame Smile

Otherwise a great capture - I like the tones - from almost pure white to pure black; and a perfect composition.

Honestly Chris, people here seem obsessed with re-doing other people's images! Seems a trifle presumptuous, I have to say, and I wouldn't dream of doing it myself.
Still, if it makes them happy.......

It's called critique. One of the risks and side-effects of showing your stuff to people Grin

Best wishes.

I suppose so. I do in fact know what critique is- done plenty of it in my time ( literary, not photographic ) and I don't even mind receiving it, although I don't feel the need to actively seek it. I suppose I sometimes get ruffled because personally I prefer to simply enjoy someone's image, or move on to the next one if I can't, and that's actually my main motivation for uploading images to this site- in the hope that some, as evinced above, will derive pleasure from looking at them.Smile If some derive their pleasure from critiquing the work of others, and feel they are qualified to do so, that's fine Smile
