The crop's fine as it is, but thanks for your comment.
love the lighting and soft colours
Nice shot and crop.
Simply beautiful Alan The curve the light the composition are perfect. This is a mundane subject but your photographers eye saw the potential and created something very special Sorry for being a serious **** but iam slightly gob smacked . Oh aye and nae fitprints
I'd be suggesting a tighter crop - if it wasn't for those few bright green leaves in the foreground. They make this crop work.
I do like the simplicity, austerity.
Thoughts of Lili Marlene, perhaps: but the place waits, not the person.
Aftermath of a summer storm?
Lots of your photos are enigmatic; this one is more so.
P.S.: Beamish has two Coffee Pots, the other being green. They look sedate but they can shift!
A simple but eye catching subject/composition that asks more questions than it answers.

Thanks, Ronnie, that tends to be my modus operandi ( that can't be good Latin.... better check with Bill )
Thanks, Rod. But there's no such thing as a mundane subject, only a mundane treatment
....And I was really careful about the footprints.
I like this image a lot!! Excellent!!
Empty benches make excellent subjects, and usually so very melancholic as here, especially with all the empty (and necessary) space. A superb pool of dark light under the lamp post as well.

Thanks for the back-up, Dave. You are no slouch
Fair point Alan , that wis roughly whit i wis sayin neeber

Well said - an image that needs all the space to make it work so well. Also an image where the shadows are as important as the areas of light.
Minimal perfection. Love it.

Praise like that, from 2 top class Artists such as yourselves, really means a lot.
Erica, Charlotte... thank you.
The bench is waiting for that young couple so obviously in love just out of sight... The journey through the image leads to where ever and what ever the viewer chooses. A fabulous shot Alan, simple and intriguing. Gets my vote and my UA
Interesting light - gives it a sense of mystery.
Your dancin Alan
Taking pictures of light again?
Lovely capture. What about a mono version?

Tried it. Doesn't really work. Thanks Mark
Quote: Simply brilliant.!!!
I now like you more than your mentally disturbed brother, but don't tell him.
