Still life, an exercise that the Masters practised and perfected, as you have Alan.

Really like a painting and great with the stones. Perfectly positioned and framed with the light falling in.

past is calling.. and that maroon color is passion.. sometimes how past looks feels like a breath away.. it is something that is lost forever.. even so, seeing something like it make me feel i can claim it again... i feel i could extend my hand and touch it..

Smile i was thinking about your recent images and i thought of the idea of a bar alongside if you intend for a gallery.. together, they provide an alternate reality and people may find it difficult to reconcile afterwards with the real world.. Smile and so, a drink may go a long way.. Smile

Shouldn't there be a skull and some grapes in that composition, Alan Grin

i love the warmth, the angle of the light use of chalk pastels ha ha ha

Seriously though - nice one!

Your processing has left just the right level of detail in this beautifully arranged still life, lovely tones.

This is a stunning still life picture, my one question is how? The transition from a straight photo is brilliant, how did you do that! Smile

It's beautiful, fleeting yet tactile, and whatever you have done to it it's still all about the light. One minor quibble - the hard edge to the black vertical stripe far right. Too hard, too cold, too sudden. Apart from that it's superb.

Very attractive tones and (especially) textures.
Are those pebbles entirely dead? Sure?
