Lovely light.
As PK suggests, this asks all the questions and withholds the answers.
We could soon be facing a deer - or a rally car - but let's be content with the stillness meanwhile.

The angle of the branch, catching the light, is perfect above the angles of light in the road. That's March light, on clean, fresh, new greens. Which come over perfectly as clean, fresh, new greens without the slightest need for colour.

With the curves and undulations this has a 3D look Alan.
Lovely strong contrasts and good tonal range between.

Are you tempted into the shade across the other side of the light? Taking you into the unknown away from the light...

The image really does draw the viewer in with the path and your use of the shadows, lovely light, particularly on the foliage top left, excellent processing.

The road draws you in to the image because you've allowed it so much space and Moira's right about the greens. Your usual high standard Alan.

Soft dappled foreground light on the road leading to hard edged backlight on the leaves. The darkside has just enough detail in the trunks but still has that mystery to it. I'd be happy with this on my wall.
