Or perhaps a kind of "Constable reimagined," if that's not disrespectful. Originally shot on film, print rephotographed digitally, cropped and messed around with a bit.
love this, has a very olde worlde charm. very tranquil, post shot 'messing around' well worth it.
Like the light and tones in this - well worked
Thanks Richard~ your comments are always appreciated.
Has a distinct Constable 'feel', notably (for me) the tonal contrasts where patches of light filter past trees and shrubbery, sometimes en masse, sometimes simply as rim lighting. Very well observed.
Atmosphere and a half, love it, G8 shot
Thanks, Bill. Always interested in your observations. Had a friend lived in Prudhoe, many years ago. Seem to recall it's just over the river from where Basil Bunting lived? (Wylam.)

Prudhoe is about a mile and a half West of Wylam along the Tyne, though a lot higher up.
We can not offer a Basil Bunting in Prudhoe, nor a George Stephenson (the railway engineer, born in Wylam), but we do lay claim to Thomas Bewick (actually of Mickley, but that's within our town council area while Wylam isn't )
Lovely shot, nice atmosphere.
Truly a breathtaking image!
All that messin' has added so much atmosphere. Very nicely subdued colour palette with that strip of bright water bringing the whole image to life.
Thanks, Slow. Mucho apprecio.
Just having a look through your PF. i absolutely love this. more like a painting than a photo. certainly a work of art.well done Alan.
Thanks Kenny, this one did seem to go down quite well.
