I was asked by my camera club last night to set up some still life subjects for the members to shoot. So I did one set up on a dark background (the roses in my previous image) and this one. The idea I had was to show that you can do these with things from you own home, the tea cup, and flowers from the garden and that you can do them without studio lights if you don't have them. The set up was placed on two peices of white foam core board and lit with 3 cheap anglepoise lamps fitted with daylight bulbs. Although, on this I think I should have got an extra light out of the bag to light the top a bit more.
No photoshop on this one apart from being converted from the RAW file, cropped and sharpened.

Great image, Just goes to show just because the weathers bad outside our cameras don't need to collect dust.
