In the cool day of light
where the past is no more
of a time gone by
that allowed an open door.

Now closed and guarded
as the coldness gains
as the freezing winds blow
still, a shadowy figure remains.

Snow covered the land
resisting with all it's might
it loved being a leaf,
so it was worth the fight.

Against the whiteness
it stood out proud,
without the other leaves
that was such a crowd.

It would make it through
til the new season came,
a new life insight,
that was its aim. Smile

Photopoetry by moi...Haven't felt inspired enough to write any for a long time, but the snowy weather inspired me this morning. Ooo the Sun is out now! Smile

A beautifully poetic image, and a beautiful poem. What a gift to us this morning.

Hi, Loren - what a lovely image! I used to live next to Epping Forest, so your image brought back all my memories! Beautiful work!
