One of the more scenic spots in my town
A cracker of a beauty spot Rod, really like the way you've captured the manicured lawns together with the architectural beauty o the buildings
Which bit o Kirkcaldy was this? Long time since I've been back but looks a bit like units around the back o Sinclair toon or Gal' ton areas.
Nah nae quite neebs its no far fae the starks bar heading tae seafield.Whaur the old B&Q wis. Gods country lol
I say old chap what a spiffing shot! I thought at first it was Royal Tunbridge Wells, in Kent, it's so much like it of late! ha ha ha!, what was that program (who lives in a place like this!) no it was Hoos like this lol. I knew you were upper class Rod, in fact it is a very good urban look photo, I'd take my hat of to you except I don't wear one lol. have a great day, Cheers mate. regards Leon.
Left you some fish for yer tea lol.
Ha Ha Leon I know this is the most upperclass part o KDY lol but it is my toon warts and all Quite liked the grittiness of the pic.
OMG Leon i have just noticed the wee award fae ye ta very much. Most unsxpected for this one. This is ma first one so am well pleased.
Powerful photo journalism.
I get depressed by the forum threads that turn up every so often on the lines of 'I can't take good pictures because I don't live near to beautiful scenery'. Photography is about so much more.
Cheers Moira you are right there. I find i now look at the "world" in a new light (bad pun) and photography is not all about beauty it can be about so many different aspects of life
ah! i can almost sense it now...........the pipes, the swirl of the kilt, and the impact of a Glasgow kiss!!......................iconic image, and so much like where i come from, the beauty of romford is legendary...............!
looking again...........great use of your lens, DoF, a gritty, Don Mccullin style B+W.......love the foreground. you have an eye and a talent, Rod. really. when you capture what is the essence of what is in front of your lens...............that is the real world, no HDR no photoshopping, just our reality. and it is very stark sometimes. great documentary image.
Thanks Phil ma heids swellin up Don't know Don Mcculin in-fact don't know any photographers except you guys lol btw ye forgot buckfast lol
look up Mccullin................you will love his work, he is self taught, still around, famous images you will recognise.
