I like the contrast between the tree and sky and the almost neural pattern of the smaller branches.

The brains of the Earth. I like it too, - theres some very nice detail in the small branches.
I would darken the top left, - theres a lot of noise there anyway, so darkening covers it, and also prevents the eye from being attracted to the lighter green; Theres a couple of lens flares that you can remove if you want, - theyre not bad, - I did remove them in the mod.
Hope the mod works for you
regards
Willie
The branches are like veins, Roddy, it's a fine abstract style image, with the tree in silhouette against the sky.
I quite like that touch of green top left, and so have left it there in my modification.
There are quite a few branches affected by glare, and another patch of it top right, which I cloned out. I simply went over the parts of grey branches with a black paint brush, then slightly adjusted levels to brighten the whole image. I also cropped, maintaining your aspect ratio, removing some of the heavier branches, as my eye was continually pulled to the top left.
Pamela.
