Posing Gull by cnield81

Posing Gull

Blimey - thats a big one, puts Hitchcock in the shade! Great perspective and nicely sharp. A lot of people dislike gulls but I am finding them more and more interesting....

Stillness by Wilco54

Stillness

Quote: I really like the tones in this but actually think it works better without the shore in the foreground. Getting rid of that increases the minimalist feel and also moves the boat away from the middle of the frame.

Ian

Ian, thanks for that, I think you are right. I may play and try again!

Garlic crusher or nut crusher? Either way I love the photo, the processing and subject leaves a real abstract feeling.

Dancers by derrymaine

Dancers

Its funny how colour popping divides opinion! I dont like it but I like this shot and think it would have worked just as well without the red. I might have been tempted to dodge the girl looking on from the left as she adds some depth for me. Just my opinion.

Krka Waterfalls by Rolepics

Krka Waterfalls

Its hard to critique this shot! I love the action, the colours and the composition. Normally I am a fan of slowed down water but this really grabs your attention and the clear flow and power of the water is really visible. The twigs right at the front are a nuisance but I would leave them alone. Its an excellent shot of a really interesting and colourful natural scene.

I am off to Croatia this summer so I hope we will be somewhere near this river at some point................

No Rush by nanpantanman

No Rush

I really like the quietness and composition here. If I may make a suggestion, if this was mine I would lose the little reeds in top left and top right corners and convert it to mono.

Watching the shoppers! by Wilco54

Watching the shoppers!

Hi Rod! No, thats the nature of the Pinhole Lens, it gives quite an impressionist result that I really like but dont do enough of. Thanks for the compliment!
best regards

I dont know Chester at all Jim but those black and white horizontal, verticals and diagonals provide great shapes and contrasts! Really interesting buildings, how much age do they have?
