Composition is excellent and I'm not sure how you could crop it any other way. Superb as always.

Beautiful image but certainly doesn't to be cropped any further, in fact, I'd like to see a little more space at the bottom of the composition to balance the space above the birds head.

Mike has a good point...a drop more room at the very bottom of the frame wouldn't go amiss, that leaf is so very close to the edge.
I like the inclusion of the foliage,it works for me.

This is a good example of a situation where the rule of thirds should be avoided. I would however add that small amount to the bottom.

I would have said crop the bottom but its personal choice and I see most are saying leave it in including a member of the critique team - trouble is viewing large on my screen I have to scroll up and down to get the full picture but since viewing small - YES I can appreciate its good as isSmile

Superb and stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great composition Dean and I wouldn't change it at all but at the end of the day its personal choice.

My only critique is I think the lighting on the eye looks a little false, it has the appearance of a "glass eye" to me as if it has been lightened and sharpened a little too much

Perhaps just a touch more space at the bottom so that the leaf is not quite so close to the edge of the frame - but a very minor niggle in a photograph with such beautiful colours and tones.

Phil.

Outstanding, natural shot, Dean. Perfect exposure for colour & detail within an ideal composition.
